Breast Cancer with Alcohol

Previously, there was an article mentioning the downside for youngsters to get themselves involved in binge drinking, if not binge drinking, they are not encouraged to touch any of these alcohol at all. Today's article is just another strong reason why youngsters, particularly girls, should get their fingers off the alcohol.

In many western countries, the rate of benign breast disease sufferers is always increasing by leaps and bounds, and one of the strong reasons why this is happening, is because more and more female youngsters are indulged in alcohol consumption. This appears to be a solid evidence which was obtained from a study conducted at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and Harvard University.

Speaking of benign breast diseases, it usually occurs with the existence of breast lumps. Though the appearance of breast lumps does not mean that it will be really hazardous to that very individual, but about 80 percent of breast lumps are said to be benign. When this happens, there is a great possibility that normal breast tissues could transform into invasive breast cancer.

The researchers of this study have studied girls who fell in the range of 9 to 15 years old by starting to tracking their health records from the year 1996 to 2007. Although specific statistics were not revealed, but the result did show that the more alcohol is consumed, the more likely the participants were diagnosed with benign breast diseases. According to the researchers, girls and young women who drank up to 6 or 7 drinks of alcohol per week tend to have about 5.5 times more likely to encounter with such disease compare to those only took a few sips once a week or none at all in a week. While those who drink three to five times a week appear to increase their risk for up to three times.

Watch Out, Women!

"Glycemic Index (GI)" is a common term which you can always come across in GTF Worldwide Sdn Bhd. So what does this GI actually tells a person when its value goes up or ends low? GI actually measures how carbohydrates in your body affect your blood sugar levels. Simply put, when carbohydrate breaks down very quickly and rapidly, and release broken down sugars into your bloodstream, that will trigger a high GI value. For low GI, it's just in the contrary, when carbohydrates break down slowly to release simple sugars into bloodstream, low GI will be obtained instead.

Through consuming large amount of calorie as part of your diet, that could cause a series of harmful consequences, with the likes of increasing unnecessary fats, as well as contributing the reduction of good cholesterol, that is, HDL cholesterol. Although many of you may have understand this theory, but what today's scientific research found is a little bit different than what we've known previously.

Yes, indeed such kind of diet will do us no good. In addition, all of us think that through such diet implementation, further illness such as insulin resistance could unveil their wicked tails. And while everyone thinks that males would be the gender who is exposed to this at greater risks, but a recent study showed us otherwise. It reveals that for it is relatively riskier for women who consume diet with high GI. That is, women will have greater risks in encountering heart complication compare to men should both genders consume the same amount of high calorie foods.

The study was conducted among men and women. From these participants, one-fourth of the women were selected to consume the most carbohydrates overall. And the result of this study showed that these one-fourth of women actually had approximately twice the risks of having heart disease compare to the other one-fourth of women who consumed the least calorie. While for men, under the overall carbohydrate intake program, glycemic index and glycemic load, surprisingly were not associated with heart disease risk in men.

Sleeping in Elderly

Younger kids who still go to kindergardens, often ask their grandparents funny questions such as "Why does grandpa/ grandma wake up early in the morning like I do?", most especially during the period of dawn, moments where these kids are preparing themselves for another fun and thrilling day of schooling. No doubt, we can see many older adults tend to wake up very early in the morning. As a response to these kids, their grandparents will always tell them that when people grow older, they tend to sleep lesser. But is it true that it is normal for older adults to wake up early, ie: sleep less as they grow older? Let us refer to some postulations and reasonings below.

According to a very recent study, researchers found out that older adults still sleep averagely for a time length of 6 hours, just like what younger adults do everyday. The reasons keeping these older adults out from a good night sleep, tend to be reasons such as insomniac and other related factors.

A new reaserch from Israel pointed out that, a normal daily routine helps and links closely in contribution of sleeping quality in older adults, and at the same time, daily routine also reduces the patterns of insomniac among them. Previously, many studies concerning sleeping quality have been conducted for healthy adults and people with Parkinson's Disease. These results actually showed that daily regular routine does linked with their sleeping quality. But what has it got to do with older adults?

A study, which recruited 96 Russian-speaking older adults have proven that daily regular routine, is also appear to be closely related to their sleeping patterns. The participants (who were then aged averagely at 75 years old) were assessed by trained interviewers, and they were living in apartments, and provided with independent living equipments, such as kitchennette.

These participants were closely examined and were ensured that they carry out the same activities in stability such as bathing, eating, making appointments and others. As a result, apart from proving that elderly actually sleep for an average 6 hour per day, their efficiency of sleeping as well as sleeping quality had also improved compared to what they've experienced before the study was conducted.

From the study, the researchers suggested that by increasing the stability in daily routine for older adults, it can be prediceted that these adults will have shorter time in falling asleep, increment of sleeping efficiency as well as sleeping quality. But if they were exposed to other activities which were uncommonly carried out such as shopping and having medical appointments, their sleeping patterns tend to fall back to what they experienced previously.

Breathe Right

Many people are influenced by certain advertisements which advertise a breathing-aiding tool lately. This tool, where everybody thinks that by just pasting it on the nose with proper orientation, the air-passage way of breathing can be righted from the wrong. But what is the root which causing such problem? Is breathing unnaturally and snoring during sleeping period come naturally? Definitely not.

Researchers found that, not only poor sleeping habits were originated from the same culprit, but other misdiagnosed symptoms are also very likely to be caused by the same thing. So, who is this culprit which brings all these havoc to human? It is none other than mouth breathing. In each family, there must be someone who experience mouth breathing. Since the correct breathing method is always through nose, but mouth breathing has becoming a norm, especially for those who are experiencing allergies. Allergies can cause the obstruction of upper airway, and renders the sufferers breathing through their mouths.

When individuals start breathing with their mouths, and such habit goes untreated, many unexpected bad outcomes could occur. These so-called bad outcomes can be observed especially among children. Over time, these children who breath through their mouths, might suffer from abnormal facial and dental development, which in turns making them having narrow faces and mouths, and even crooked teeth. And speaking of bad sleeping habits which are caused by mouth breathing, this would apparently affect their academic performances as well. And in the real world, doctors often misjudged the situation by considering such symptoms as attention-deficit disorders.

Forget about physicians when you are dealing with mouth breathing problems. Instead, your dentist could be the first one who notice such problem. Therefore, remember to breathe using the right way!

Complementary Juice

If you are a frequent visitor of every Monday night's seminar which is held in our company, you would have probably heard a lot of information about antioxidants, and a piece or two things about oxidation reaction. Just in case you are not aware of these terms, please allow me to explain them again here within this post.

Firstly, what is antioxidant? Extracted from wikipedia, antioxidant basically is a molecule which slows down or prevent the occurrence of oxidation of other molecules. So it generally leads to the next question, what actually does oxidation reaction do to our body as it can reach a very bad and serious extent that many people are saying that oxidation could make us looked older? Oxidation reaction actually produces harmful substances which are known as "the free radicals". These free radicals, they would basically damage our cells and body system.

And before you know it, we have actually "consumed" a large amount of free radicals into our body. What are the foods which contribute to this? It is none other than foods which are high in fat and calories. These types of foods could generate free radicals in our body which in turns destroy or harm our body cells.

In a recent study, it shows that when we are consuming these foods, there is actually a complementary food which we could take into consideration in order to reduce the production of free radicals.

A study which was conducted by researchers from University of Buffalo involved 10 strong individuals. This study requested them to consume a 900-calorie breakfast after fasting in the previous day of the study. After the consumption of those delicious foods, one group of them were asked to drink a 300-calories orange juice, the second group were asked to drink a 300-calories glucose drink while the third group drank plain edible water. There was no significant difference in inflammatory mediators among these participants, and these participants were requested to finish the meal in 15 minutes.

Next, subsequent 1, 3, and 5 hours were the moments where their blood samples were collected. As a result, it showed that oxygen free radicals increased an average of 62 percent with water, 63 percent with the glucose and 47 percent with orange juice. This generally explains that original orange juices could potentially reduce the production of free radicals.

Hence, when non-existence of the best possible products, which is GTF Products occurred, and at the same time you feel that high fats and calories foods which are placed in front of you sometimes are inevitable but to swallow them into your tummy, might as well take a glass of fresh orange juice as your companion.

Resists Asthma

Asthmatic attack is intimidating. Especially when there are children in the house with such diseases. What happened to asthma sufferers is due to chronic inflammation in their airway passage. Such inflammation causes the narrowing of the bronchi (a plural form of bronchus, meaning: branches of trachea) of the sufferers.

When asthmatic attack is underway, the smooth muscles in bronchi will tend to constrict, and this causes the airways become swollen and inflamed, as a result, breathing difficulties are encountered by sufferers. Most of the obvious symptoms are very well known by all of us, with the likes of experiencing tight chest, and with wheezing sound as the sign of breathing difficulties and internal air obstructions.

Currently, a preliminary study from a New Zealand company Plant & Food Research might be a relief antidote to many asthma sufferers out there. What they have found in their study, was that blackcurrants might contain natural chemicals which could potentially curb these hazardous attacks.

The mentioned researchers discovered a natural compound in New Zealand blackcurrants which is called epigallocatechin. Such compound is said to be able to reduce inflammation in lung tissues. Speaking of New Zealand blackcurrants, it does not mean that you must get these useful compounds by booking an expensive air ticket and get it these invaluable blackcurrants from New Zealand. Such compound, can be found in other fruits such as persimmon and pomegranate.
